Overview

About the Unitree NVIDIA Jetson Orin Computing Board

The Unitree NVIDIA Jetson Orin Computing Board is the GPU-accelerated half of the B2's compute options: while the standard fit inside every B2 and B2-W is an Intel Core i5 running platform functions alongside a Core i7 reserved for user development, the Jetson Orin NX board is the official way to add dedicated AI acceleration to that architecture. This page exists for the three moments it meets — a perception stack that has outgrown CPU-only compute, a board that needs replacing, or an optional compute slot that is sitting empty.

It is an internal assembly: the board mounts inside the robot body, next to the standard computers, and puts an NVIDIA Ampere GPU with Tensor Cores to work on the sensor streams the B2 already produces — multi-camera detection and tracking, LiDAR and vision fusion, learned behaviours and deep-learning inference, all running onboard at up to 100 TOPS with no cloud connection and no workstation tethered to the robot.

For a working fleet the maths is simple: up to three optional compute devices can run inside a B2, each either a Core i7 board or one of these Jetson Orin NX boards, so a heavy autonomy workload gets its own GPU instead of queueing behind everything else. The board earns its place the same way a spare battery does — by being the difference between a stalled programme and a running one.

AI Compute

100 TOPS of CUDA Compute, Inside the Robot

The board is built around the 16 GB NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module: an NVIDIA Ampere GPU with Tensor Cores delivering up to 100 TOPS of AI performance, driven by an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE processor with 16 GB of memory and 2 TB of storage. That is the class of module designed for exactly the workloads an industrial quadruped generates — multi-camera detection, tracking and segmentation, LiDAR-and-vision fusion, learned locomotion research, onboard inspection analytics — running at full rate on the robot rather than on a desktop it left behind.

Mounting inside the body is what makes the numbers matter: every frame and every point cloud reaches the GPU over internal links instead of a Wi-Fi hop, so latency stays low enough for navigation and obstacle avoidance to trust it, and the robot keeps thinking when the site has no connectivity at all.

The Orin NX and the Core i7 Are Not Interchangeable Choices

The B2's optional compute slots take either an Intel Core i7 board or an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module. The Core i7 is the x86 path — standard PC software and CPU-heavy processing. The Jetson Orin NX is the GPU path — CUDA acceleration for camera-heavy AI and deep-learning inference. Both are official options for the same slots, they can be mixed up to three boards, and which one suits depends on whether the workload leans on PC software or on CUDA.

Compatibility

One Board for the B2 and the B2-W

The official B2 specification lists the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX among the robot's optional compute devices, alongside the Intel Core i7, and the assembly is listed for the wheeled B2-W across the B2 accessory range — one board covers a mixed fleet of legged and wheel-legged robots with no version split to cross-check.

It is not a cross-model Unitree part, though. The Go2, G1 and R1 platforms each take their own compute options, so this board is not the one for those robots — and if your slot layout is unusual, ask us and we will confirm the fit before you order.

Shipping, Quality Guarantee & Board Care

The board assembly contains no lithium cells, so it ships as standard express freight rather than battery-class cargo — worldwide via DHL or FedEx, with the transit time confirmed in your quote.

Every Unitree NVIDIA Jetson Orin Computing Board is 100% quality-inspected before it ships and packed as protected electronic cargo, so it arrives in perfect working order. From there it is an internal computer like any other — dry hands, gentle with the connectors, and it goes back to the same internal mount it came from.
