Overview

About the Unitree R1 Battery Charger

The Unitree R1 battery charger is the charger Unitree ships in the box with every R1, R1 AIR and R1 EDU — the official charger for the robot's 6000mAh (199Wh) quick-release battery. If your original charger stays at the lab or you are building a two-battery rotation, this is the matching unit: the same charger the robot ships with, so there is no version to cross-check.

The charger runs on any mains supply from 100 to 240V at 50/60Hz, so the same unit moves between labs, demo venues and deployment sites without a voltage converter. The quick-release pack charges on the bench: slide the battery out of the R1's side bay, connect it to the charger, and the battery's own BMS manages the charge curve end to end.

With R1 runtime in the one-hour class, a second battery and a second charger are what turn a one-hour demo into an afternoon: one pack works in the robot while the other refills on the bench. Every R1 ships with one charger in the box, so most teams order this unit as a spare for the bench or the travel case.

Charging Speed

Back to Full in About an Hour

The R1's 6000mAh (199Wh) battery refills in about an hour on this charger. The battery's seven-level BMS manages the charge curve — balanced charging with overcharge, over-discharge and short-circuit protection — so the pack is looked after automatically while it charges on the bench.

In practice that speed sets the R1's working rhythm: with a second battery on the charger, one pack powers the session while the other refills, and the quick-release design makes the swap a seconds-long bench-side job.

Compatibility

One Charger for the Whole R1 Lineup

Every model in the R1 family — the R1, R1 AIR and the R1 EDU (including the EDU's U1–U6 configurations) — uses the same 6000mAh quick-release battery and the same charger, so this one unit covers the whole lineup. There is no version split to worry about: it is the only charger the R1 family uses.

It is not a cross-model Unitree charger, though. The Go2 and G1 run different batteries at different voltages with different connectors, and Unitree's newer R1-A platform has its own separate R1-A charger — none of these are interchangeable with this one.
