Overview

About the Inspire LASF10 Linear Servo Actuator

The Inspire LASF10 linear servo actuator is a micro linear servo with an integrated force sensor — the force-sensing member of Inspire's micro actuator family, and the actuator used as the thumb drive in the dexterous hands fitted to the Unitree G1 EDU. This listing sells it on its own: as a replacement thumb actuator, as the drive unit for custom grippers and end effectors, or as a development component for force-controlled manipulation.

This listing is the LASF10-024D — speed level 02, the high-force level of the family. Every unit reports its rod position absolutely and its push-pull force in real time, with closed-loop force control for gripping pipelines.

Force Sensing

What the F Stands For: a Built-In Force Sensor

The Inspire LASF10 linear servo actuator is the force-sensing member of Inspire's ten-millimetre micro actuator family — the F marks an integrated force sensor in the push rod. Where the LAS10 only positions its rod, the LASF10 also measures how hard it pushes or pulls, across a −100 N to +100 N range at 1 N resolution.

That turns a simple positioner into a force-controlled drive: the actuator can close a gripper until it feels a set force, hold that force as the object shifts, or flag an overload — the behaviours dexterous-hand grasping pipelines are built on.

  • Integrated push-pull force sensor — detects and controls rod force in real time
  • Force closed-loop control: grip to a set force, not just a set position
  • The LAS10 is the same family without force sensing — buy the LASF10 when grip force matters

Inspire LASF10 Linear Servo Actuator: the Three Speed Levels

The Inspire LASF10 linear servo actuator comes in three factory speed levels — same body, same stroke, same force sensor; the gearbox ratio changes, trading force against speed. This listing is the LASF10-024D, speed level 02: the high-force level, and the one fitted as the G1 EDU dexterous-hand thumb actuator.

Unitree G1

The Thumb Actuator in the G1 EDU Dexterous Hand

The dexterous hand fitted to the Unitree G1 EDU drives its thumb with this actuator — the LASF10-024D, the exact variant sold on this page. If a G1 hand loses thumb travel or grip force, the Inspire LASF10 linear servo actuator is the unit that swaps in.

Replacing one actuator is a different job from replacing the hand. If the whole hand is the problem, the five-finger RH56DFQ and the tactile RH56DFTP ship as complete hands for the G1 EDU.

Integration

Control, Feedback and Protection, Built In

Every Inspire LASF10 linear servo actuator closes its own loop: a coreless motor, planetary gearbox and precision screw driven by an onboard controller, with an absolute position sensor on the output. Rod position is retained through power cycles, so there is no homing routine on startup — and configurable device IDs let multiple actuators share one bus, which is how a five-finger hand runs six of them off a single cable loom.

The standard interface is a 3.3 V LVTTL serial port, with PWM and RS485 interface options available at order time. The controller runs positioning, trajectory-following and force closed-loop modes, and protects itself with configurable overcurrent, overtemperature and locked-rotor protection.

  • Absolute position feedback — no homing after power-off
  • Bus-addressable device IDs for multi-actuator hands
  • Overcurrent · overtemperature · locked-rotor protection
