Genuine Unitree R1 remote controller — the manual controller included with every R1, R1 AIR and R1 EDU, sold standalone as a replacement or spare.
The Unitree R1 remote controller is the handheld manual controller made for the R1 humanoid — the same controller Unitree includes in the box with every R1, R1 AIR and R1 EDU. Sold on its own, it covers the two situations that send owners looking for one: replacing a remote that was lost or damaged, and adding a second handset so a lab or demo team can run a second operator position.
One handset runs the whole session: walking a demo, changing gait and adjusting posture stay on the handheld, with the mode reference table shown right on the handset's color touchscreen and no laptop tethered to the robot. Because the Unitree R1 remote controller is the robot's factory control link, a replacement pairs through the same companion-app routine as the remote the robot arrived with and answers the same commands from the first session.
Unitree maps the R1 remote controller's buttons to the robot's locomotion, posture and gait commands: walking a demo, changing gait, adjusting posture — the whole session stays on the handheld, with no laptop tethered to the robot and no custom button setup in between.
The center touchscreen puts the mode-switch and function reference table on the handset itself — modes, recommended movements and the emergency-stop entry are readable at a glance, with no printed cheat sheet to keep track of. The link to the robot runs over a wireless data transmission module, with Bluetooth alongside it for setup, and the connection is confirmed before the robot takes a step.
Unitree's official R1 configurations list the manual controller as included with all three versions — the R1, the R1 AIR and the R1 EDU. There is one version of the R1 remote controller, so there is no edition split to cross-check when ordering a replacement: the same handset covers the whole R1 family rather than a single configuration.
It is made for the R1 platform and is not a cross-model part: the Go2 quadruped runs its own controller, the G1 humanoid carries the G1 remote controller, and Unitree's screen-based remote kits are Go2 payload equipment — none of them replace the R1's handset.

No tools or re-flashing involved — pair it like the original and it behaves like the original.
